Question:     What balance should be observed between amusement and responsibility?
Sri Sri Ravi Shankar:     They are not opposed to each other. No balance is necessary. When you like your responsibility, it becomes a game.

Question:     When will God come?
Sri Sri Ravi Shankar:     Never! One who is always here doesn't have to come and go!

Question:     If meditation for 20 minutes is equal to 7 hours of sleep then why don't we meditate all night?
Sri Sri Ravi Shankar:     'Aati Sarvada varje', every thing in excess is bad.

Question:     Do you see yourself as a man or as a god?
Sri Sri Ravi Shankar:     As a child.

Question:     What to do if people don't respect you?
Sri Sri Ravi Shankar:     Thank them. They have given you freedom

Question:     Guruji I feel I lack self confidence and intelligence. What to do?
Sri Sri Ravi Shankar:     Ram is the strength for the weak

Question:     Dear Guruji, when can I become one with the Divine?
Sri Sri Ravi Shankar:     When will the wave meet the ocean?! My dear, Where is the wave?
If you feel the restlessness and longing, then you are blessed and fortunate. Your inward journey has begun. Do Seva, Sadhana and Satsang. They will free you from restlessness and soak you in the fountain of love


Question:     What is real seva? How can my every action become seva?
Sri Sri Ravi Shankar:     Seva mean, doing like him. 'Him' means the creator. He does everything for you and he doesn't expect anything from you. So to do whatever you can, not expecting anything in return; is called seva

Question:     Would you advise us to do our duty properly or go after rituals?
Sri Sri Ravi Shankar:     Moderation! Nothing should be done in extremes. Duty should be done. However, to enrich yourself, to enable yourself to do your duty properly, you have to rejuvenate and energize yourself. So, a little bit of meditation, relaxation, music, and prayer; all these will help. Prayer is essential in life

Question:     Even after listening to knowledge, if attachment with a person arises and if it is not fulfilled will I have to take another birth?
Sri Sri Ravi Shankar:     The grip of attachment is released with kripa(grace), kaal(time) andseva(service). Assume that you already have grace and give priority to time and service. It is not that all your attachments and desires will be fulfilled. Whatever is needed and good for you will be given. That which is unimportant, an illusion of the mind be discarded - this should be your prayer

Question:     Does life exist in other planets in universe?
Sri Sri Ravi Shankar:     Yes, there is life elsewhere also. According to ancient scriptures, 14 universes exist, and your five replicas exist at the same time (Can I meet them?) They all are part of you. When you meet yourself, you will meet them too. And, there is no proof which says there is no life anywhere apart from earth.

Question:     What is the difference between Shiva and Krishna?
Sri Sri Ravi Shankar:     There is no difference between Shiva and Krishna. The soul of Krishna is Shiva. When Shiva manifests in the world and expresses all the kalas (units of consciousness) is Krishna.
The Brahmakumaris say that Shiv baba gave the Bhagwad Geeta. This Song (Geeta) can arise only from the space of Shiva through the body of Krishna.


Question:     It is said that there is a different Veda (scripture) prescribed for every individual. What is the connection and how does it work?
Sri Sri Ravi Shankar:     At one time, people had divided Vedas into branches. Each group chose a different branch and learnt them by heart to continue the practice and preserve the knowledge in its pure form.
‘Tripathi ‘was used as a title for someone who has mastered three Vedas. ‘Dwivedi‘was used for someone with knowledge of two Vedas and ‘Chaturvedi ‘for a master of the four Vedas. It was a title like MS and MD. One had to read at least one branch of the Vedas. There is a connection of Vedas with families but you can choose to study any
